Winter Wonderland

‘Winter Wonderland’ had truly cast a magical spell on everyone. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Sujit Bose, the Minister of Fire and Emergency Services, Government of West Bengal. Among other dignitaries, the event was graced by Mrs. Hilda Peacock, an illustrious educationist and former Principal of La Martiniere for Girls, Kolkata, Mr. John Bagul, the Founder Principal of South City International School etc .

The evening had a lot in store for the audience. The flower show was one of its kind. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the campus was turned into the Garden of Eden and the visitors were smittenby the beauty and fragrance of it all. The man behind the floral extravaganza and who needs no introduction is the Rector of the school, an anthophile, a naturalist, Mr. Wilson Gidla. To make the evening even more joyous, the students sang Christmas Carols spreading the message of peace, happiness and forgiveness.

There was also a skit staged by the students in addition to a well synchronised dance performance. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Sonia Gidla enthralled the audience by her soulful rendition of Christmas songs.

The event came to a close with the rendition of medley of songs by the teachers of the institution and the Principal wishing everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

25 th December,2021 was yet another blessed day to behold. We broke a record of 25,000 and above visitors from near and far off places of Kolkata visiting our school and Douglas Church. It was heartwarming to see ear to ear smiles, hopeful eyes, hands interlocked, passionate hugs, earnest prayers in the church and smartphones freezing moments and creating a lifetime of memories.
