Douglas Memorial Higher Secondary School, Barrackpore has been recognized by the "ELDROK INDIA” for Excellence in Imparting Holistic Education for Personality Growth" Award.

This award is dedicated to our teaching staff, Management and Parent community for the collective vision we hold to uplift and upgrade the standards of education at our school. Enchantia 2022

Douglas Memorial Higher Secondary school organised the most awaited event of the year --- Enchantia 2022. The event was held on 23rd December, 2022. There were 350 varieties of roses exhibited in the Rose Fest. The roses that were displayed here were of unique colours.

There were roses with colours as exclusive as Coffee brown, Green, Blue, Lavender and believe it or not, even Black. These varieties were imported from various countries of the world.

ENCHANTIA – 2022 was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Ms. Suvina Shunglu, Principal of Sri Sri Academy. Mr. Soumen Mitra, Former Commissioner of Police, Kolkata and DIG of Police, West Bengal was the Guest of Honour. Their presence added charm to the exuberant evening. What is worth mentioning is that these beautiful flowers were not merely imported only for the sake of the exhibition. The flowers were nurtured under the supervision of the Rector, Mr. Wilson Gidla. The school boasts of a beautiful rooftop garden, where these fragrant beauties are tended by the relentless efforts of Douglas gardeners. The school is one of its kind in Barrackpore where horticulture is encouraged among the students. The Douglasities, therefore, grow up establishing a close communion with Nature. It is remarkable to say that the beautiful roses attracted as many as 60000 ( SIXTY THOUSAND ) people on the Christmas Eve. Kudos to the entire Douglas family for such a conspicuous and outstanding show!
